''THE COMPARISON OF MARCHING BAND FROM THE PHILIPPINES AND IN THE OTHER COUNTRY ''

''INSPIRED BY DOUBLE DRUMS''

With the use of what some might consider as instruments taken from the “stone age”, Cebu’s approach in marching music had grown in popularity even to the nearby islands.  Before the rise of the non-school-based DBCs, the drum and bugle groups of Cebu had evolved in the academe with USJR, CCC, and UV as some of the leading schools with a drum and bugle unit.  After a short span of time, these influences eventually branched out beyond the academe thus paving the way for the non-school-based drum and bugle corps. Since then, the trend started making its way to the nearby cities and towns before making its way to the nearby islands like Bohol and Leyte.  Recently, the spread of such influence had grown very quickly due to the many festivities, like the Sinulog festival, that utilize such bands in their parades.
Taking into account the short span of time it took for all of these developments to transpire, the promising future of Cebu’s Drum and Bugle Corps in the coming years would indeed be a very interesting trend worth looking forward to.
